Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is attempting to extend the deadline it has for filing its financial results with the New York Stock Exchange. The company currently has until 31 January or it risks a delisting of its stock.

However, according to a report by Reuters News, a company spokesperson said: “Krispy Kreme is in discussions with the NYSE to seek an additional three-month extension on its filing deadline.”

Krispy Kreme has not filed any financial statements since late 2004. The company is also under investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission over its accounting of certain franchise buybacks.
