US grocery giant Kroger Co. has struck a deal with workers at its Fred Meyer and QFC stores in Seattle.


The agreement, described by Kroger as “tentative”, covers 3,500 Fred Meyer employees and 4,500 QFC workers in the city.


US union United Food & Commercial Workers Union said it would recommend the deal to its members this weekend. Details of the agreement were not released.


Fred Meyer Stores, based in Oregon, runs 127 multi-department stores in four western states.


QFC, headquartered in the state of Washington operates 77 stores in Washington and Oregon.
