US: Land O’Lakes rolls out cinnamon butter spread

Dairy firm Land O’Lakes has extended its range in the US to include cinnamon-flavoured butter.

Land O’Lakes said its Cinnamon Sugar Butter Spread is designed as a topping for a variety of foods, and is available in a 6.5oz container at a price of US$2.49. The product is available in supermarkets across the US.

The company said the spread is made with an “all-natural butter with no artificial ingredients”.

“We have seen growing popularity in the spreadable butter category, with an 11.3% increase in 2010,” said Land O’Lakes marketing manager Angela Pengelly. “The Cinnamon Sugar Butter is the first flavoured butter developed to meet the needs of consumers looking for easily spreadable butter, which currently has a 10% household penetration in the US.”
