US tortilla manufacturer Mission Foods has opened a new manufacturing plant in Panorama City, California.
The Californian Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced yesterday (29 September) that the factory represents a US$50m investment, is LEED Gold-Certified, and will create over 400 jobs once it reaches full capacity.
The office said the plant will “greatly improve the local economic outlook”.
“I am extremely pleased that Mission Foods is creating manufacturing jobs in California at a time when many think California can no longer do that. I also want to recognise Mission Foods’ commitment to the environment by building a LEED Gold-Certified plant,” said Governor’s Office of Economic Development director Joel Ayala.
