Dallas-based natural food company Julie’s Real has taken another step on its growth path with the appointment of industry veteran Todd Barry as director of finance and operations.

Barry joins the firm with more than ten years’ accounting and operating experience under his belt, most of it gained in the food and drinks industries.

From May 2016 until the present day, Barry was operations accounting manager at WhiteWave Foods, where he managed cost accounting, co-packer relations and championed several cost reduction initiatives.

Barry also worked for Campari from 2012 to 2014 as a senior cost accountant and a supply chain financial analyst.

Julie’s Real founder Julie Fox said: “We are so excited to welcome Todd to the Julie’s Real team. We are committed to creating the best gluten-free and paleo products and that includes building a world-class team.”

Michael Fox, co-founder of Julie’s Real, said: “We are looking forward to Todd helping us incorporate best practices from larger food and beverage companies into our entrepreneurial environment and helping Julie’s Real achieve our vision of building America’s premier natural food brand.”

Julie’s Real is known for its products including almond butters, cashew butters and grain-free granolas.

The company uses all-natural, whole food ingredients and its products are crafted in small batches. Its products are gluten-free, paleo, soy-free, dairy-free, peanut-free and non-GMO and are sold through retailers including Whole Foods, Central Market, Fairway Market and Dean & Deluca.

The inspiration behind the company came from dietary changes the Foxes had to make when Michael was diagnosed with Barrett’s Esophagus in December 2015.
