Nestle Health Science, the nutrition arm of Nestle, has extended its Boost brand with the launch of a bar designed to meet the nutritional needs of older consumers.

“Neste Health Science has developed The Boost Nutrition Bar for older people,” a spokesperson for the group told just-food. “This bar has been developed to meet the specific nutritional needs of older adults to help them get the nutrients they may be missing.”

The Boost line of nutritional products currently features a range of fortified drinks. The bars will be available throughout the US and will be sold in two flavours: chocolate and chocolate with peanut butter.

The bars contain 21 vitamins and minerals, including 50% of the daily calcium requirements and 11 grams of protein.
