“I can confirm that Steve Michaelson will be joining Supervalu,” a spokesperson for the group told just-food.


He will report to Duncan MacNaughton, Supervalu’s executive vice president of merchandising and marketing. 


Michaelson was formerly CEO of online grocer FreshDirect.


Michaelson will be replaced at FreshDirect by thecompany’s chairman, Richard Braddock, according to local reports.
