US agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland was among the companies launching new products at this week’s London trade show Food Ingredients Europe. The group launched a new cold-water dispersible natural-source vitamin E acetate E 700D.

The product is a water-dispersible form of d-alpha tocopheryl acetate and has little or no odour or taste, which makes it highly versatile. It can be added to a wide range of food and drink products without necessitating flavour adjustment. ADM claims it is also very stable and resistant to sedimentation and ringing, increasing its suitability for use in beverage systems.

A concentrated source of Vitamin E, E 700D is also suitable for use in multivitamin supplements and chewable tablets. Just 22mg provides 100% of the recommended daily allowance for an adult.

As with all ADM vitamin E lines, the new product is a naturally derived material obtained from vegetable oil processing.
