Allrecipes.com®, the leading online meal planning resource, has opened the largest online kitchen store available on the Web today.

This launch is the result of strategic alliances entered into by Allrecipes.com with Kitchen Etc., the world’s largest online kitchenware retail site, and Electricfood.com, a leading online specialty food site. This is significant for home cooks worldwide as they now have access, via Allrecipes.com, to the widest variety of kitchenware and specialty food items from a single source for all of their meal planning needs.

The new store launched today, November 6, in conjunction with Allrecipes.com’s new logo and site design update. The store, available at www.allrecipes.com, offers a powerful combination of more than 30,000 kitchenware utensils, appliances and cooking aides, plus more than 1,000 specialty food items. As part of the alliance, specific kitchenware and specialty food items will be profiled on Allrecipes.com that correlate with holidays and featured menus, events or cooking themes. Specialty food items and kitchenware that can help users select the right tool or ingredient for preparing dishes will also be linked to recipes throughout the site. The new store also offers value-added features, such as international shipping capabilities; 24-hour, toll-free customer service; and a brick-and-mortar presence via Kitchen Etc.’s retail stores and Electricfood.com’s parent company, Hy-Vee.

“These alliances represent another giant leap forward in Allrecipes’ mission to provide value and convenience to our loyal community of home cooks,” said Bill Moore, CEO of Allrecipes.com. “We searched the world for the best partners that share our philosophy of building relationships with consumers while providing superior customer service and low pricing. We believe these new services will solidify our leadership position in the food industry.”

Moore added that the opening of the new store is significant for Allrecipes.com as it rounds out the comprehensive meal planning resources available on the site. In addition to the store, Allrecipes.com offers nutritional information, recipe scaling, personalized recipe boxes, thousands of hints and tips, a cook’s encyclopedia and automated shopping lists. All of these services are also available via all three major wireless carriers, Sprint PCS, Verizon and AT&T, on Internet-ready cellular telephones.

“We are extremely excited to be working with Allrecipes.com. We are constantly looking at ways to expand our reach and enhance our kitchenware offerings to consumers worldwide,” said Robert Camp, CEO of Kitchen Etc. He offered his endorsement noting, “Our alliance with Allrecipes.com gives us access to a growing and loyal community base that loves to cook. This combination, along with Allrecipes.com’s commitment to quality and customer service, creates a win-win situation for all parties involved, most importantly the customer.”
