US fast-food corporation Burger King is considering proposals to introduce a new ‘value menu’ in order in the US to vie for position in this highly competitive sector, according to press reports.

The new range will feature various BK staples such as the Whopper Jr, hamburger, and four-piece serving of Chicken Tenders alongside other optional items that individual franchises could chose to include in the value menu.

According to a report by Dow Jones Newswire, a Burger King spokeswoman wouldn’t deny the rollout plans, but declined to elaborate.

However, she told Dow Jones Newswire: “We’re confident that our direction in this area reflects a highly collaborative approach with our franchisees that will maximise profit and traffic.”

Franchises across the US will vote by Wednesday whether or not to endorse the strategy.
