US food giant Cargill has revealed that a restructure and expansion of its nutraceuticals and the specialty food ingredients business units will see its Cargill Nutraceuticals subsidiary renamed Cargill Health and Food Technologies.


Among the commercial products of the company are the AdvantaSoy™ line of soy isoflavones, the CS/90+™ brand of chondroitin sulfate, phytosterol esters, vitamin E, and trehalose.


Cargill Health and Food Technologies will continue to develop and markets health-promoting ingredients for food and dietary supplements industries globally. Officials claim that since the merger of the units the business will benefit from a combined management team with many areas of expertise; such as sales, marketing, business development, consumer research, regulatory and clinical knowledge, applications development, and process engineering.


Ted Ziemann, president of the Health and Food Technologies Unit, explained: “The synergy of these two units increases Cargill’s capabilities in serving the functional food, traditional food and dietary supplement industries globally.
