US food company H.J. Heinz has announced that Neil Harrison, executive vice president, and president and CEO of Heinz North America, has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests.

Harrison had been with Heinz since 1997, leading its US frozen foods businesses and more recently as head of the North American region.
Heinz, whose brands include Heinz Ketchup, Ore-Ida french fries and Boston Market and Smart Ones meals, did not say who would succeed Harrison as head of Heinz North America.
