US convenience store chain 7-Eleven is seeking expressions of interest from companies who might operate branded outlets in China.

Following China’s admission into the World Trade Organisation, the chain is hoping to extend its business in the country and revealed that it may consider licensing the rights to a group of businesses.

Market watchers expect that the companies already operating 7-Eleven stores in China will be most likely to win the licenses for the chain’s expansion. These include Hong-Kong-based Dairy Farm International and 7-Eleven Japan.
