In an unusual development for the world of e-commerce, the US patent for the FizzyFruit carbonation process will be available to the highest bidder when it is placed for auction on the eBay website.

An assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Kaufman revealed yesterday that the patent will be available for bids until the 16 June, and it has been placed with a reserve price of US$10m with royalties.
