US packaged bakery foods company Flowers Foods has said it expects to continue to grow organically and through acquisitions in the future, and plans to launch further whole grain products over the next few months.

The company also reiterated its previous guidance for fiscal 2005 of an estimated US$1.6bn to $1.625bn in sales, and income of 3.75% to 4% of sales.

George Deese, president and chief executive officer, said new products and further expansion of the territory served by its direct-store-delivery routes form part of the plan for internal growth. The company expects to introduce additional whole grain products in both its Nature’s Own and Cobblestone Mill brand product lines over the next few months.
