Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin yesterday issued the recall of all Craigellachie Smoked Scottish Salmon in 4-ounce packages due to insufficient labeling.
Georgia Agriculture Sanitarians discovered the labeling errors during routine inspection and sampling.
“The labeling error that raises the greatest concern was that these packages did not include the manufacturer’s, packager’s or distributor’s name and address,” said Commissioner Irvin. “If we were to discover a health concern with one of these products, it would be extremely difficult for us to trace where the product came from. The best thing to do is to go ahead and recall all of this product until the company can correct their labeling procedure.”
