Genetically modified foods are in the news again, this time unaccompanied by the voices of anti-biotech activists. According to the United Soybean Board, less than 4% of Americans have taken any action regarding GM foods, such as boycotting particular products.


Meanwhile, ‘independent’ industry-funded UK body CropGen says that approved GM foods are at least as safe as other approved food in the shops. Public opinions are changing, but not all for the better. Datamonitor expects the US to become more skeptical of GM products over the next five years, following negative reactions elsewhere, while Brits will become more accepting.
