US turkey producer Jennie-O Turkey Store has announced that its Marshall, Minnesota-based subsidiary Heartland Foods is to close at the end of February.

As a result of the closure, 162 employees at the turkey processing plant will lose their jobs. At the beginning of 2002, the plant employed around 300 people before the company carried out a series of layoffs during the year.
Us branded meat products company Hormel Foods is the parent company of Jennie-O, reported the Associated Press.
