US nut processor and packager John B. Sanfilippo & Son has announced that it has received a subpoena for the production of documents and records from the antitrust division of the US Department of Justice.

The company said the request was in connection with an antitrust investigation of the peanut shelling industry.

The Illinois-based company, which distributes its products under brands such as Sunshine Country and Texas Pride, said it expects to cooperate fully in the investigation.
