US food maker Kraft Foods has announced today that Mark Berlind is joining the company in October as executive vice president, global corporate affairs.


Berlind, who previously held the position of vice president and associate general counsel at Altria, will be responsible for all of Kraft’s corporate affairs functions, including issues management, corporate responsibility initiatives, media relations, contributions and internal communications. In addition, Berlind will be responsible for the government affairs team supporting the food business.


He will report to Roger Deromedi, chief executive officer of Kraft Foods, and join the Kraft executive team. Berlind replaces Michael Mudd who is retiring after more than 20 years with the company.
