(NYSE:IMC), recently secured distribution contracts with Chicken Express and Koo Koo Roo, Inc., a subsidiary of Prandium, Inc. (OTCBB:PDIM). The two contracts combined are valued at more than $20 million in annual sales.

MDG began servicing Chicken Express restaurants on May 21. The business is serviced out of the company’s Dallas distribution center. The three-year contract covers 58 Chicken Express franchises in Texas.


Multifoods’ three-year agreement with Koo Koo Roo will cover about 40 company-owned stores in California and Nevada. The account will be serviced out of MDG’s distribution center in Anaheim, Calif. The business will begin in July.

Chicken Express, based in Weatherford, Texas, is a quick-service chicken restaurant concept that specializes in fried chicken and offers an assortment of side items, such as french fries, jalapeno poppers, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob and biscuits. Chicken Express’ unique, fast service and non-greasy chicken is the “talk of Texas.” Since it was founded in 1988, Chicken Express has built its reputation on serving fresh — not frozen — chicken tenders and pieces.
