PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America President and CEO Gary Rodkin today [Monday] announced top leadership appointments within the new division of PepsiCo, which combines Pepsi-Cola, Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker Foods in the United States and Canada.
Effective immediately, Dawn Hudson becomes president of Pepsi-Cola North America (PCNA). Having served most recently as senior vice president, strategy and marketing for PCNA, Hudson, 44, has more than 20 years of experience building some of the world’s best-known consumer brands. At PCNA, she has led brand strategy and marketing, channel strategy, product innovation, research and development and joint ventures.
Since 1998, Hudson has been responsible for developing creative advertising, packaging, merchandising and promotional programmess. Driven largely by innovation, PCNA was the industry’s fastest-growing total beverage company in 2001, outpacing its primary competitor in volume and share gains.
Jim Dwyer, 43, has been named president of Tropicana North America. In his previous role as PepsiCo senior vice president of merger integration, Dwyer led worldwide efforts to capture cost and revenue synergies resulting from PepsiCo’s acquisition of The Quaker Oats Company.
Dwyer succeeds Brock Leach, who will now lead new special development projects at PepsiCo and report to Chairman and CEO Steve Reinemund. Among other responsibilities, Leach will direct the company’s strategic focus on health and well-being, in partnership with Dr. Ken Cooper, the renowned Cooper Clinic and other experts, to broaden PepsiCo’s offerings of nutritious products and encourage physical fitness.

By GlobalDataAl Carey, 50, has been named chief operating officer of PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America with the sales teams for Quaker, Tropicana and PCNA reporting to him. Carey will oversee all sales, customer strategies and go- to-market initiatives for the combined PCNA, Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker businesses. He will work closely with the presidents of each of those units. In addition to his new role, Carey will continue to lead “Power of One” initiatives to leverage the combined strength of PepsiCo’s beverage and snack divisions worldwide.
