HERSHEY, Pa./PRNewswire/ — Richard H. Lenny, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hershey Foods Corporation (NYSE: HSY – news), today announced that Raymond Brace has been promoted to Vice President, Operations and Technology, effective January 1, 2002. Brace, who most recently served as Vice President, Manufacturing and Engineering, will have responsibility for the company’s manufacturing, logistics, engineering, quality and regulatory compliance, and research and development functions. He also will join Hershey’s senior management group, the Hershey Executive Team.
In making the announcement, Lenny said, “In October, we set a strategic agenda that leverages Hershey’s core strengths and builds new capabilities. Ray’s broad category experience and strong leadership will prove invaluable as we create a superior, value-added supply chain.”
Brace joined Hershey Foods in 1967 as an industrial engineer and held various positions in manufacturing, including Assistant to the Plant Manager and Plant Manager. From 1987 until 1997, he served as Vice President of Manufacturing. He was promoted to Vice President, Operations in 1998 and was named Senior Vice President, Operations in 1999.
Brace is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering. He is a member of Alpha Pi Mu. He and his wife, Pat, live in Hershey, Pa.
