USA: Shareholders OK new name for Tricon

The shareholders of Louisville, Ky.-based restaurant operator Tricon Global Restaurants officially approved changing the company's name to Yum! Brands Inc at a meeting last Thursday. The global giant, the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell fastfood chains, completed its acquisition of Long John Silver's and A&W All American Food Restaurants from Yorkshire Global Restaurants last week.

The global giant, the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell fastfood chains, completed its acquisition of Long John Silver’s and A&W All American Food Restaurants from Yorkshire Global Restaurants last week.

David Novak, the company’s chairman and CEO, commented: “Yum! Brands better reflects our expanding portfolio of brands.”
