US food manufacturer Smucker has announced plans to sell the foodservice and bakery products businesses it acquired with its purchase of International Multifoods.

These businesses were reported as the Foodservice Products Segment by Multifoods. They have never been viewed as core to the Smucker business, which has prompted the decision to divest them.

For Multifoods’ 2004 fiscal year ended 28 February, 2004, the Foodservice Products segment had net sales of US$202.5m. These products are manufactured in eight North American facilities, the company said in a statement.
