A chicken product manufacturer is voluntarily withdrawing approximately 483,000 pounds of chicken products nationwide.
Seven chicken products being withdrawn by Brakebush Brothers, Inc. were produced and distributed between August 8, 2000 and January 9, 2001. The withdrawn products include Country Goodness/Chef’s Kitchen Fully Cooked Breaded Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat (product code 56223), Country Goodness Cooked Breaded Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Patties (product code 5620), Fully Cooked Breaded Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat (product code 900485), Chik-Licious Hoagie Shaped Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat (product code 5931), Chik-Licious Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Patties (product code 5944), CN Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Patties (product code 5912), and CN Cooked Breaded Nugget Shaped Chicken Breast Patties (product code 5622).

The chicken products were distributed to grocery stores and foodservice distributors throughout the nation.
The manufacturer received five consumer reports from four Illinois grocery stores that bits of plastic were found in some packages of Country Goodness chicken nuggets. Brakebush Brothers has determined that a pair of safety goggles ended up in a single batch of chicken nuggets.
“We want to be safe,” said Carl Brakebush, Executive Vice President of Brakebush Brothers, Inc. “We urge consumers to check their refrigerators and freezers. If consumers find this product, they can return the product to the point of purchase.”
Brakebush Brothers is working closely with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials to recover the withdrawn chicken products.
