Nestlé has offloaded UK recipe-kit company SimplyCook to ingredient and flavour supplier Jardox.

In a statement yesterday (3 November), Nestlé said the disposal was part of efforts to “simplify our business to drive growth”. Financial terms of the deal were not revealed.

“SimplyCook is a unique business with a strong brand and a differentiated proposition in the UK meal kit market,” Nestlé said. “Since joining Nestlé, the business has continued to build a loyal customer base and develop its offering.”

Jardox has held a “long-standing partnership” with SimplyCook, which Nestlé noted made the company a “natural fit to take the business to its next chapter”.

Oli Ashness founded London-based SimplyCook in 2014, supplying pre-portioned flavour blends and companion recipes.

The KitKat owner acquired SimplyCook in February 2021 for an undisclosed sum.

At the time of publication, Nestlé had not responded to a request for further comment on the sale of SimplyCook.

In September, Nestlé agreed to sell the “mainstream” vitamins, minerals and supplements brands it put under review last year.

The assets – including Nature’s Bounty and Nuun – to US private-equity firm Yellow Wood Partners for SFr800m.

It is also reviewing New Zealand supplement company The Better Health Company and its Go Healthy brand.

In July, the group agreed to offload 50% of its waters and "premium" beverages operations to private-equity house Platinum Equity in a deal creating the Peranel joint venture.

Three months earlier, Nestlé sold its majority stake in German spices and seasonings brand Ankerkraut back to its original founders, Anne and Stefan Lemcke.

The company also offloaded its remaining holding in charcuterie group Herta to Spain-based Casa Tarradellas in December 2025.
