Anton Paar to Host a Free Workshop on Testing Low and no Alcohol Beverages
Anton Paar Ltd is inviting brewery quality control and production professionals to a half-day workshop exploring measurement techniques and analytical solutions for low- and no-alcohol beverages.
Taking place on 4 November 2026 at Anton Paar Ltd in Luton, the No and Low Alcohol Beverage Testing Workshop will provide practical knowledge and hands-on experience to help attendees understand when and how to test low- and no-alcohol products to achieve reliable and consistent results.
With the demand for low and no alcohol beverages continuing to grow, accurate alcohol determination is increasingly important for quality control, production and compliance. The workshop will explore the challenges associated with measuring these products and the analytical techniques available to address them.
A key focus of the programme will be enzymatic ABV measurement and its use in optimising the measurement performance of Alcolyzer systems. Attendees will also learn about NIR alcohol determination, including direct measurement of % ABV in low- and no-alcohol samples.
The workshop will compare enzymatic analysis with alternative reference measurement techniques, including gas chromatography (GC), examining the strengths and limitations of different approaches. Practical demonstrations will allow attendees to see Anton Paar measurement systems in action and explore their application in beverage testing.
Topics covered include:
- Enzymatic determination of ABV
- NIR alcohol determination, including direct measurement of % ABV in low/no samples
- Comparison of GC and other measurement methods
- The theory behind measurement techniques for low- and no-alcohol beer samples
- Selecting the most appropriate method for ABV determination
- Hands-on demonstrations with Anton Paar instruments
- Case studies showcasing applications across the beverage industry
- Best practice tips for caring for analytical systems and achieving optimum performance
The workshop is aimed at professionals working in brewery quality control, production and beverage analysis who want to strengthen their knowledge of analytical techniques and gain practical experience with measurement systems used for low- and no-alcohol beverages.
The No and Low Alcohol Beverage Testing Workshop will take place from 10:00 to 15:00 on 4 November 2026 at Anton Paar Ltd, Luton, UK.
This is an in-person event, and registration closes on 2 November 2026.
