Anton Paar announces free dairy analysis and characterisation workshop for industry professionals
Anton Paar Ltd is pleased to announce its upcoming Dairy Analysis and Characterisation Workshop, a free one-day event designed to provide dairy industry professionals with practical and theoretical insight into the analytical techniques used to improve product quality, optimise manufacturing processes, and support product development across dairy products and the industry.
Taking place on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, at Anton Paar Ltd’s UK headquarters in Capability Green, Luton, the workshop will bring together professionals from across the dairy supply chain, including manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, processors, and technical specialists, to explore the latest developments in dairy measurement and characterisation.
As dairy manufacturers continue to balance product quality, process efficiency, consistency, and innovation, robust analytical methods play an increasingly important role throughout production. The workshop has been developed to help attendees better understand the measurement technologies and best practices that support accurate, data-driven decision-making from raw material assessment through to final product quality control.
Throughout the day, Anton Paar application and product specialists will combine technical presentations with practical laboratory demonstrations, allowing attendees to gain hands-on experience with a range of analytical techniques used in dairy testing. The programme covers applications relevant to milk, cheese, yoghurt, cream, powders and other various related dairy ingredients or processes.
Key topics covered
· Understanding the analytical techniques used for dairy quality control, formulation, and troubleshooting
· Using FTIR and Raman spectroscopy for the identification and quantification of various chemical species found in dairy products
· Rapid concentration and batch consistency checks using density and refractive index measurements
· Microwave digestion techniques for mineral and trace element analysis
· Improving manufacturing efficiency through online and inline process analytics
· Relating viscosity and rheology measurements to texture, stability, and filling behaviour
· Assessing particle size and its influence on texture, solubility, and mouthfeel
· Evaluating powder flowability, cohesion, and wall friction for improved handling and packaging
· Using tribology to investigate creaminess, astringency, and mouth-coating characteristics
· Hands-on laboratory demonstrations showcasing Anton Paar analytical systems and measurement workflows
Who should attend
The workshop is suitable for:
· Quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory teams within dairy and food manufacturing
· Research and development and product development teams working with dairy products
· Process, production, and technical teams responsible for optimisation and troubleshooting
