Enzymatic Reader: Selective Alcohol Analysis for 0.0% Beer

Enzymatic Reader: Selective Alcohol Analysis for 0.0% Beer-feature-image

Anton Paar has introduced the Enzymatic Reader, a compact analytical module for fast and selective alcohol checks in ultra-low-alcohol beverages. Primarily designed for 0.0% beer, it enables producers to verify compliance where conventional methods are limited, helps prevent alcohol carryover into non-alcoholic products, and supports faster release decisions.

The module uses enzyme-coated, single-use sensor strips to measure trace levels of alcohol even in complex sample matrices. After degassing, the sample is mixed with buffer and directly applied to the sensor. Measurement starts automatically, with results available in less than four minutes – no handling of toxic chemicals, calibration or cleaning required.

Designed to reduce operator effort and simplify daily lab work, the Enzymatic Reader easily integrates into Anton Paar beer measurement systems, enabling seamless operator-independent workflows. Data can be securely transferred into the Anton Paar digital environment, supporting traceability, audit trails, and established quality control processes.

With its combination of speed, selectivity, digital integration, and user-friendly operation, the Enzymatic Reader offers beverage producers a practical tool to strengthen compliance, reduce manual effort, and enhance confidence in release decisions for alcohol-sensitive products.
